The
journey of pregnancy and giving
birth are natural processes for which a woman's body is well
designed. Women possess the ability to nourish a safe and healthy
pregnancy, and the strength and stamina to birth their babies
naturally. Midwives help women to surround themselves with positive
elements during the childbearing year such as self-education, a
nourishing diet, a healthy lifestyle, and planning the ideal care
during this season of life. Our practice offers
comprehensive prenatal care, childbirth education, continuous support
during labor and birth, postpartum care in your home, and well-woman
gynecological services.

Around
the world, most women labor and
give birth with midwives, as they have since the dawn of time.
Today,
our midwives empower mothers to take responsibility for their health
through individualized care, counseling, education and support to
women and their newborns. In the location of your choice, we provide
continuous assistance during labor as the mother does the amazing
work of birthing her baby. During postpartum visits, our care
continues by supporting breastfeeding and monitoring the health of
mother and baby.
Nurse-midwives and professional midwives
are trained to combine
the time-honored art of midwifery with the benefits of modern medical
care when needed. Our goal is always to have a healthy mother and a
healthy baby! Midwifery care has been proven to be a safe, nurturing
alternative to physician-attended hospital birth for healthy women.
When the body's own instinctive knowledge is supported, most often
pregnancy and birth unfold in a natural fashion, and unnecessary
medical intervention can often be avoided.

| At Home
Birth Kaua'i,
we offer prenatal care, birthing services, and postpartum care either
in your own home or on our private homestead here in Wailua, on the
east side of Kauai. At our home, we have large private birthing
suites. The suites offer a king-size bed, and a large bathroom with a 2
person Jacuzzi
tub, as well as a huge double shower, with 6 massaging shower heads.
There is also an outdoor hot tub/Jacuzzi in a private garden adjacent
to the birthing suites, available to the laboring mother. Finally,
there
are 4 acres surrounding the house in which to stroll while waiting for
the baby’s arrival, an orchard for fresh fruit, and a swimming pool,
all with views of Wai’ale’ale, the Makaleha mountain ridge and distant
waterfalls. |
